The course Informatics Entrepreneurship is a unique experience that addresses the growing need for entrepreneurial thinking in our students. They participate in a lively series of seminars that highlight a series of guest speakers composed primarily of real entrepreneurs and venture financiers. By the end of the module students will have increased the size and breadth of their entrepreneurial toolchest.

The course addresses the needs of practitioners, managers, decision makers and educators who want to be informed by first hand knowledge of the market potential of innovative digital technology. Participants will learn how to turn ideas into opprtunities through creating new ventures. However, the course educators are keen on delivering a "real" representation of the entreprenurial choice including its associated pain.

The course is 10 weeks in length. At the climax of the IE2 course student teams present to a live panel of practising investors including business angels and venture capitalists. An optional field trip to the UK's number one ranked incubator exposes students to a venture- creation factory. Informatics Entreprenurship is open to 40 postgraduates, up to 10 undergraduates, and PhD students who would like to audit the course. Students who would like to start their own hight technology business are especially encouraged to take this inspirational course.
